ARTIST – Jamie Fales (Noosed Kitty)
COUNTRY – United States
TITLE – “The Accidental Seal Clubber”
MATERIALS USED/TECHNIQUE – acrylic, epoxie sculpt, vinyl, fabric
DESCRIPTION/BACKSTORY-

I knew I wanted to make an Eskimo figure and wanted to incorporate an animal, which I do in much of my artwork.  I wanted my Eskimo girl to be sad and in my usual style and then brainstormed what could’ve upset her… seal clubbing.

What was your inspiration for this custom toy?
Eskimos, snow, seals.

Which part of the customizing process did you enjoyed the most?
I really enjoyed figuring out how to make the eskimo costume.  This is the second custom toy I’ve sewn a vinyl suit for and I’m really happy with the way it came out.

How and when did you begun customizing?
I was invited to participate in a vinyl show in 2009 and that’s where it started.  Since then I’ve participated in a few vinyl shows and have made a few pieces on my own.

What keeps you inspired?
Everything.

BIO

Jamie Fales hails from New York. She grew up with a plethora of coloring books and a vivid imagination (plus, an insatiable hunger for cookies). Her mother insists Jamie was endlessly entertained as a youngster with a simple box of popsicle sticks, glue, and some glitter. She went on to study fine art in college and received her BFA in 2003. Her work has been featured in numerous publications and she has shown in solo and group exhibits across the United States. As an adult, Jamie loathes glitter, but remains an avid cookie lover.
